Crockett research papers, 1764-2000.

Correspondence, biographical data, genealogical charts and printed material, representing almost thirty years of Jones's research on Crockett family genealogy. The papers are organized into series that maintain the filing system and file titles used by Jones. Correspondence includes incoming letters and carbon copies of outgoing letters to other researchers, with attached sources of several types, usually containing genealogical information. The Coded Crockett Files is the most significant series, consisting of files on individual family members, ordered according to Jones's alphanumeric code system, and containing a mix of research correspondence and source material, such as photocopies and transcripts of documents, genealogical charts, clippings, and other published sources. Jones's research focuses on her family line, beginning with the grandfather of David Crockett of Alamo fame. Other series contain correspondence and source material on several families related to the Crocketts by marriage, copies of documents and compiled information, photocopies of sections from various biographical and genealogical works, family group sheets, and a name index to Jones's files and publications.
